Major De’More Woods, a 4-year-old black child, died Thursday, Oct. 3, in the 500 block of North Marlborough Avenue in Inglewood, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 7 a.m., Inglewood police were called to the home because Woods was not breathing. The child did not a have a prior medical history, according to coroner’s records.

Woods was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

An autopsy found that the child died of blunt-force trauma.

The child’s 23-year-old mother and a 28-year-old man were taken into custody, according to a news release from the Inglewood Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the department.

Today was celebrate a VICTORY in holding people accountable for their actions. There is NO reason that any child should be neglected or abused by those they love and look to for protection, love , & care .

Though the conviction & life sentences will not bring him back , I am happy to know that justice was SERVED in his case . There is not a day that doesn't go by that I don't think of you whether it's me missing you or remembering a fun memory we had together . I know that you are with me & watching over me & that alone gets me through my days .

It goes without saying that every day and everything around me, reminds me of you. Saturdays are especially the hardest. I often wonder what our Saturday would be like. Waking up to your taps on my arm saying, "Girlfriend, I'm hungry! Can I have some pancakes?" Lol I make us breakfast & as we get ready to eat you say, "Girlfriend, where my meat (sausage)?" Only to point out to you the 2 slices of bacon on your plate. Then all the while we were eating, you telling me, "drink your milk & water girlfriend, it makes you strong." Then you flex your muscles & say “girlfriend, I walk like a grown man.” && you do your walk. Listening to your voicemails over and over brings me comfort. I love you so much && I miss you immensely. You will always be a strong, precious, smart, & loving little grown man to me. I wear my memorial pin for you each and every day to keep you close. You are not forgotten. Your GG, Auntie Jasmin, & the rest of the gang miss you baby. Forever in our hearts, Rest In Peace Baby Boy!
