Manuel Alvarado-Hernandez, 25

Manuel Alvarado-Hernandez, a 25-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Monday, Oct. 31, in the 1800 block of West 81st Street in Manchester Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 3 a.m., Alavarado-Hernandez was driving home from visiting a friend when he pulled over to the side of the West 81st Street, said Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling.

A dark-colored SUV drove by and shot into Alvarado-Hernandez’s car, Barling said.

Alvarado-Hernandez was found with gunshot wounds inside his light-colored Honda Civic, police said.

Alvarado-Hernandez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:39 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Alvarado-Hernandez was not a gang member, and police are unsure of the motive in the killing, Barling said.
