A story for every victim

Marc Douglas Bayar, 50

Marc Bayar, a 50-year-old white man, was shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide Monday, July 19, in the 5400 block of Sunset Boulevard in East Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Officers responded to a call of a shooting at a T-shirt warehouse about 12:40 p.m., according to an LAPD news release.

When authorities arrived, they found Sung Chul Pak, a 40-year-old Asian, and Bayar with gunshot wounds, police said. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe Pak shot Bayar before he killed himself. The gun recovered at the crime scene was registered to Pak, police said.

A motive for the shooting was not given.
