Marcus Jarrod Wilkerson, 46

Marcus Jarrod Wilkerson, a 46-year-old black man, was fatally shot Friday, July 29, 2016, near West Gage and South Western avenues in Harvard Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 6 a.m. a person found Wilkerson lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the stomach, said LAPD Det. Chris Barling.

Wilkerson, who lived in the area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witness statements lead police to believe the shooting occurred about an hour earlier. Barling said investigators believe Wilkerson was involved in some sort of dispute.
