Mariana Teresa Resendiz (2016-10-24)

Mariana Teresa Resendiz, a 20-year-old Latina, was fatally shot Monday, Oct. 24, in the 4100 block of South Avalon Boulevard in Historic South-Central, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 10:30 p.m., Resendiz was standing in the area when someone walked up and shot her, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dan Gersna.

Resendiz was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m., according to coroner’s records. Gersna declined to release a suspect description.
