Mark Anthony Valle, 16

Mark Valle, a 16-year-old Latino, died Thursday, March 22, hours after he was shot in the 11900 block of Firestone Boulevard in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Valle, of Norwalk, was near the rear of a business late Wednesday when he was approached by two male suspects and shot.

The teen collapsed and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead Thursday morning, said Lt. Cheryl MacWillie of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Pauline Panis said that authorities were still looking for the suspects, who fled the scene on foot. The incident was possibly gang-related.

The L.A. Times Homicide Report lists 24 homicides within a two-mile radius of the business since Jan. 1, 2007.
