Martin Perez, 35

Martin Perez, a 35-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, April 26, in the 1600 block of East 87th Place in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Perez was the victim of a walk-up shooting about 3:25 a.m., said sheriff's homicide Sgt. Recchia, who is handling the case.

After the incident, authorities were called and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:44 a.m.

Sgt. Recchia said there is no description of the shooter.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related. The victim was a documented gang member.
