Milton Jones, 66

Milton Jones, a 66-year-old black man, was killed Thursday, Jan. 29, in the 1200 block of East 33rd Street in Central-Alameda, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 7 p.m., Jones got into an argument with his son, who allegedly hit him on the head with a baseball bat, said LAPD Det. Richard Arciniega. 

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:10 p.m., according to coroner’s records.  Coroner’s officials determined that Jones died of blunt head trauma and ruled the death a homicide.

The man's son, Lavel Jones, a 32-year-old black man, has been charged with murder, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.
