Nathaniel Joseph Ancar, 40

Nathaniel Joseph Ancar, a 40-year-old black man, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, after he was shot in the 7400 block of South San Pedro in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 9 p.m., Ancar was driving north on South San Pedro when another vehicle pulled up on the passenger side and a person inside opened fire, LAPD Det. Dave Garrido said.

Ancar, who was in a white Chevrolet Tahoe, was struck multiple times.

The Tahoe crashed into a parked vehicle, then Ancar was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect vehicle was described as a small dark-colored sedan that fled north on South San Pedro.
