Nicholas Anthony Pletcher, 23

Nicholas Anthony Pletcher, a 23-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, Aug. 21, in the 1500 block of San Bernardino Avenue in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 6:30 p.m., officers from the Pomona Police Department received a call of shots fired in the area, according to a news release from the department.

While officers were on their way to the area, they received another call that a shooting victim was in the 1700 block of Appleton Way, less than a block away.

Pletcher, who was found in an alley, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:43 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police believe that two Latinos in their 20s were involved in the shooting and fled westbound on San Bernardino Avenue.
