Orbin Javier Ventura Navas, 26

Orbin Javier Ventura Navas, a 26-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, June 13, in the 400 block of East 102nd Street in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., Navas got into an argument with his roommate, who shot him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri. The roommate then fled in Navas’ vehicle, a sedan.

Navas was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:09 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

It’s unclear what the dispute was over, Kouri said.

Pascual Palomares, a 47-year-old Latino, was arrested on suspicion of murder later that night in Adelanto, Kouri said.

Palomares has been charged with one count of murder with the allegation that he used a handgun, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
