Orlando Antonio Tobar, 29

Orlando Antonio Tobar, a 29-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Monday, Sept. 2, in the 2000 block of North Highland in Hollywood Hills, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

At around 6:30 a.m., Tobar was arguing with a man in front of a hotel; the man pulled out a knife and stabbed Tobar, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The L.A. Fire Department took Tobar to a hospital, according to the release.

Tobar was pronounced dead at 10:36 a.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.

Police arrested a suspect, Julio Caesar Velasquez, 22, near the scene of the stabbing.

Velasquez is being held on $1-million bail, according to the LAPD.
