Anthony Lewis Perry, 49

Anthony Lewis Perry, a 49-year-old black man, was fatally wounded on Saturday, June 8, in the 1800 block of North Bullis Road in Compton, according to the L.A. County coroner’s office.

At 8:15 p.m., Perry was inside a barbershop when a person walked up and began shooting through the glass window, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Perry and a 53-year-old man were wounded in the incident. The shooter, described by deputies as a male black male, ran off in an unknown direction. Deputies did not recover a weapon.

Perry was taken to a hospital, where he died at 10:20 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

The other man was treated and survived.
