Rafael Aguilar Rodriguez, 22

Rafael Aguilar Rodriguez, a 22-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the 3300 block of Hunter Street in Boyle Heights , according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities said Aguilar Rodriquez was at the home of Gustavo Lopez, a 29-year-old Latino, when his brother, Israel Lopez, entered the room and shot them both about 3:50 p.m.

Gustavo Lopez was hit several times and pronounced dead at the scene.

Aguilar Rodriquez was shot once. He was taken to County USC Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Israel Lopez, a 25-year-old Latino, was taken into custody without incident and the alleged murder weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.

The alleged assailant is being held on no bail at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 26 at the Los Angeles Municipal Court.
