Robert Lee Nelson Jr., 16

Robert Nelson, a 16-year-old black youth, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, after being shot at Main Street and 101st Street in Broadway-Manchester, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.

Nelson was one of two people shot about 8:40 p.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m.

The other victim in the killing was Drayvon James, a 29-year-old black man. He was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, Winter said.

No other information was immediately available.
