Roberto Eli Gutierrez, 37

Roberto Eli Gutierrez, a 37-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, Jan. 18 in the 2000 block of East 2nd Street in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., Gutierrez was sitting in a light-colored Dodge Durango when at least one person approached and shot him, said LAPD Det. Jose Ramirez.

Ramirez said it’s unclear whether Gutierrez had just arrived in the area or was about to leave.

At least one person got into in a dark-colored sedan, which fled east on East 2nd Street, Ramirez said.

Gutierrez, of Rancho Cucamonga, was known in the area.
