Rosalind Sue Olson, 61

Rosalind Olson, a 61-year-old white woman, was stabbed to death Sunday, Aug. 1, in the 1900 block of Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police received a call about 8 a.m. regarding unknown trouble at the Manor, a residential facility for mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults, according to a Santa Monica police news release.

When authorities arrived at the location, they found Olson with stab wounds to her chest. The knife was still in her body, according to coroner's records.

Investigators arrested Rigoberto Ruiz, a 55-year-old Latino and resident of the Manor in connection with her death.

Ruiz is being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility downtown. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 10 in Municipal Court at Los Angeles International Airport.
