A Rowland Heights man was sentenced April 27, 2011, to state prison for killing Michael Kim, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Louis Woo Lee, 24, was sentenced to 54 years to life for the 2009 shooting death of Kim and the wounding of another.

In September 2010, a jury convicted Lee of one count of second-degree murder and two counts of assault with a firearm.

Kim, a 37-year-old Asian man, was shot June 7, 2009, in the 3900 block of West 6th Street in Koreatown, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Kim was shot in the head shortly before 2.a.m. during an argument outside the M2 Cafe & Karaoke bar on West 6th Street.

He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m.

Homicide detectives arrested Lee several hours after the shooting.
