Santos Joaquin Turcios, 42, and his son Alan Turcios, 20, both Latino, were shot multiple times at 1018 E. 73rd St. in South-Central L.A. about 12:55 a.m. Saturday, March 1.

According to police, the pair were confronted by a man who pulled out a gun and began firing several shots. Both were hit multiple times but managed to ask for help in the 7300 block of South Central Avenue.

Paramedics pronounced the elder Turcios dead at the scene about 1:12 a.m. His son was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:27 a.m. The motive for the shooting is still unknown, police said.

The gunman was last seen driving southbound on Central Avenue from 73rd Street in a light blue four-door sedan with chrome rims. Anyone with information is asked to call homicide Dets. Linda Heitzman or Refugio Garza at (213) 485-1383.
