Shanerra Jatayvia Jones, 20

Shanerra Jones, a 20-year-old black woman, died Saturday, June 2, shortley after she was shot in the 1200 block of East Glencoe in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The incident occurred about 11:10 p.m. Friday outside a house, deputies said.

A sport utility vehicle pulled up in front of the house and someone inside fired into a crowd standing outside. The SUV then sped off.

Three people, including Jones, were rushed to a hospital. Jones was later pronounced dead. Two men were also shot; one was hospitalized in critical condition, the other in stable condition, deputies said.

A second woman received treatment for a gunshot wound at the scene but was not hospitalized.

No arrests have been made and there is no known motive for the attack.
