Sun Chang, 78

Sun Chang, a 78-year-old Asian man, was beaten to death Sunday, March 18, in the 21300 block of Candice Place in Chatsworth, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Jun Hyuk Chang, 45, Sun Chang's son, allegedly struck his father in the head with the hammer, according to Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Jun Hyuk Chang was taken into custody without incident Sunday at his father's home, police said.

Family members who heard the elder Chang yell ran into the room and told the son to call 911, Eisenman said. Sun Chang died of his injuries at the scene, according to police.

Jun Hyuk Chang is being held without bail. No other details were immediately available.
