Tavon Baker Baptiste, 21

Tavon Baker Baptiste, a 21-year-old black man, was fatally wounded on Sunday, May 5, in the 500 block of South Long Beach Boulevard in Compton, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Baptiste, of Bellflower, and a 23-year-old man were standing in front of Super Wok Chinese restaurant at 4:20 a.m. when a gunman shot them, according to coroner’s records.

The men were taken to a hospital where Baptiste died at 6:20 a.m., coroner’s records show. The other victim, whose name was not released, was listed in stable condition, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.
