A story for every victim

Timothy Lawrence Gentry, 49

Timothy Lawrence Gentry, a 49-year-old white man, was fatally stabbed Tuesday, June 11, in the 1800 block of Wilcox Avenue in Hollywood, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

At 11:25 a.m., officers responded to a stabbing investigation in the 6400 block of Yucca Street, according to an LAPD news release. When officers arrived, they were directed to a suspect, Lowell Taylor, a 59-year-old homeless man, in a nearby liquor store, the release stated.

Officers then found Gentry at a nearby recycling center with a stab wound to his torso. He was taken to a hospital where he died at 12:39 p.m.

Gentry had apparently gotten into a dispute with Taylor over paperwork, said LAPD Det. Mark Morgan.

Taylor has been charged with one count of murder. He pleaded not guilty and is due in court Aug. 1, according to the L.A. County district attorney’s office.

He is being held on $1-million bail, according to Sheriff’s Department records.
