Valerie Renee Enriquez, 27

Valerie Enriquez, a 27-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 2, near Ridgeway Street and Barjud Avenue in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 11 p.m., Pomona police responded to a call about a shooting near Perez Market. Officers found Enriquez and Hugo Reynoso, 37, behind the grocery store, according to a release from police. Both had been shot multiple times.

Enriquez and Reynoso were pronounced dead at the scene at 11:03 p.m., according to coroner’s records. 

Detectives later said the two were ambushed while sitting behind the market.
