Warren Jay Blagrave, 52

Warren Jay Blagrave, a 52-year-old white man, was fatally stabbed Thursday, Aug. 15, in the 200 block of West Route 66 in Glendora, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a man flagged down a Glendora Police lieutenant and told him he heard screaming in the area, according to a news release from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, which assisted in the investigation.

The lieutenant found Blagrave and another man at a car wash with stab wounds.

Blagrave died at the scene at 2:15 a.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.

An autopsy is pending.

The same day, detectives arrested Drew Alan Friis, 28, of Glendora, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Friis was charged with two counts of capital murder in connection with the stabbing.

Friis is accused of stabbing Blagrave and the other man more than 20 times, according to a news release from the L.A. County district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors have yet to decide whether to seek the death penalty, according to the release.

Friis, who is being held in lieu of $1-million bail, is due in court Oct. 3., according to Jane Robison with the district attorney’s office.
