Wayne Taylor, 65

Wayne Taylor Jr., a 65-year-old black man, was killed, and his dismembered body was found Wednesday morning, Dec. 19, by firefighters fighting a small fire in a fenced-off abandoned strip mall at 3855 W. Santa Rosalia Drive in Crenshaw. LAPD robbery-homicide is investigating.

Case update: The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said Taylor's son, Wayne "Trea" Taylor III, 37, a black man, has been charged with murder. According to attorney's office, Taylor III faces one count of murder, one count of arson, one count of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury with infliction of great bodily injury, and one count of first degree residential robbery.  Authorities said Wayne Taylor was killed on November 22, 2007.
