Justin Lishey, a 30-year-old black man, died Sunday Aug. 21 after he was shot in the 12400 block of Longacre Avenue in Granada Hills, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 9 p.m. on Aug. 20, Lishey and two others were wounded by gunfire at a large home that had been rented for the “Millions of Models Mansion Pool Party,” police said. The party, which was attended by more than 100 people, was heavily advertised on social media and through fliers.
Lishey, who is also known as rapper “Kid Cali,” was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:13 a.m. early the next day.
Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Bob Green said that investigators believe a fight broke out shortly before the shooting.
Police say the presence of numerous security cameras on the mansion grounds will aid the investigation.

Kenney Watkins, an 18-year-old black man, was shot and killed by a Los Angeles police officer Tuesday, Aug. 16 in the 400 block of West Century Boulevard in Vermont Vista, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 3:30 p.m., an officer on a motorcycle stopped a dark sedan in the area, Los Angeles Police Lt. Chris Ramirez said. During the traffic stop, Watkins, who was in the passenger seat, got out.
The officer told investigators he fired at Watkins because he saw Watkins start to turn toward him with a gun, said Det. Meghan Aguilar, an LAPD spokeswoman.
Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:48 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
No officers were injured during the incident. The officer who opened fire was not wearing a body camera.

William Clay Settle, a 22-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Aug. 13, in the 1700 block of East Avenue J-4 in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies found Settle lying on a walkway outside some apartments about 1:30 a.m. after they received a call about gunshots in the area, said Lt. Steve Jauch.
Settle was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:35 a.m. with multiple gunshot wounds, according to coroner’s records.
Jauch said Settle lived in another part of Lancaster, and investigators don’t know why he was at the apartment complex or what he was doing prior to the shooting,
Nobody has reported seeing the shooting, Jauch said, and investigators have no description of the gunman.

Kenyada Thornton, a 27-year-old black man, was fatally shot Saturday, Aug. 13 in the 3300 block of West 63rd Street in Hyde Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 10:45 a.m., a man pulled up to where Thornton was standing, got out of a car and the two got into an argument, said LAPD Det. Chris Barling.
The man then pulled out a gun and shot Thornton. The person, described only as a black man, got into a dark sedan, which fled south on Crenshaw Boulevard, Barling said.
Thornton was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at a hospital at 11:14 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Tiffani Nicole Doxy, a 33-year-old black woman, was found shot to death Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the 7900 block of South Van Ness Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
At 5:46 a.m., patrol officers from the Inglewood Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area and found Doxy in the car with “at least one gunshot wound,” according to a news release from the department. Doxy was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:06 a.m., according to coroner’s records. Photographs of the scene showed that Doxy was found in a silver Volvo.
KTLA reported that Doxy was found in the driver’s seat of the car. Tiiesha Lane, of Gardena, said the Volvo belongs to her and was stolen two weeks ago from outside a convenience store.

Shawn Pryor, a 52-year-old black man, was fatally shot Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 3501 W. Imperial Highway in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 3 a.m., officers from the Inglewood Police Department responded to a report of a shooting victim at the King’s Motel, according to a news release from the department.
Officers found Pryor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Pryor, a Compton resident, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:49 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Cordero Dougal, a 26-year-old black man, was shot and killed Thursday, Aug. 4, in the 1300 block of East Imperial Highway in the Willowbrook neighborhood of South Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Dougal and his 22-year-old girlfriend were sitting in his white sedan in the parking lot of a 76 gas station and market about 12:50 a.m. when another sedan pulled up on the driver’s side of the car, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
Someone in the second car began shooting with a high-caliber weapon, Mendoza said, striking Dougal and his girlfriend, as well as a 53-year-old man sitting on a wall about 10 feet from the market.

Branden Marcel Davis, a 21-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, Aug. 1, in the 500 block of North Sloan Avenue in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies went to Davis' home after receiving a 911 call about gunshots about 10:40 p.m.
Deputies found Davis lying in his driveway with multiple gunshot wounds, said Lt. Steve Jauch. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m., according to coroner's records.
Investigators learned that a man confronted Davis in his frontyard and fired several shots at him, Jauch said.
"We have no suspect description other than he was a male," Jauch said.
Investigators don't have a motive for the shooting, Jauch said, and they don't know how the shooter left the area. ...
