Joshua Williams, a 24-year-old black man, was fatally shot Tuesday, June 14, in the 7900 block of South Van Ness Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 5:36 p.m., officers from the Inglewood Police Department responded to a call of a shooting victim and found Williams in the street with “at least one gunshot wound,” according to a news release from the department.
Williams was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m., according to coroner’s records. Police said they will not yet release further information about the incident.
Williams attended Oregon State University in 2011 and 2012 and was on the football team, according to the school. Williams transferred to Kentucky State University and played football there in 2014 and 2015, said Diane Hawkins, the director of communications for the university.

Chad Daniel Sabal, a 38-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed Saturday, June 11, in the 2100 block of East 115th Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly after noon, Sabal got into an argument, which turned physical, with his brother, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri. The brother ended up stabbing Sabal, Kouri said.
Sabal was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:38 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Sabal's brother, Steven Tolliver, a 49-year-old black man, was taken into custody, and has been charged with one count of murder. A spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office said that Tolliver pleaded not guilty June 14.

Saieed Stecoo Ivey, a 20-year-old black man, was shot and killed Thursday, June 9, in the 800 block of El Repetto Drive in Monterey Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly after 4 a.m., officers from the Monterey Park Police Department found Ivey in a locked Mercedes-Benz with a single gunshot wound, authorities said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators said that night that Ivey was celebrating his 20th birthday with friends and had returned to his apartment to hang out. Ivey asked for the keys to the Mercedes and went downstairs.
Moments later, residents reported hearing arguing and gunfire.
Ivey was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:11 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Investigators are looking for more people to come forward and said June 20 that they are sifting through cellphone evidence.

Gareth Lopez, a 34-year-old black man, died Tuesday, June 7, after he was shot in the 1500 block of West 59th Street in Harvard Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On June 2 at about 6 a.m., Lopez was outside his home when someone walked up and shot him multiple times, said Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling. So far, it’s unknown where the assailant fled.
Lopez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead five days later, on June 7 at 9:37 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Chavin Lafonn Hannah, a 46-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, June 6, in the 11800 block of Stanford Avenue in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 3 p.m., Los Angeles police responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon and shots fired, said LAPD Det. Nate Kouri. Police arrived and found Hannah in the passenger seat of a light-colored car. A woman who had suffered a gunshot wound to her finger was also nearby.
Hannah was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:05 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The woman was taken to a hospital where she was treated for her injury.

Darnell Darron Johnson, a 22-year-old black man, died Wednesday, June 1, after he was shot in the 3500 block of Sanborn Avenue in Lynwood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
L.A. County sheriff's deputies were called to the residential area about 1:27 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, regarding a gunshot victim, said Lt. Steve Jauch.
When they arrived, they found Johnson lying on the grass with multiple gunshot wounds, Jauch said.
Johnson was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 a.m. the following day, according to coroner's records.

Donnell Hall, a 33-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, May 28, in the 300 block of East 50th Street in South Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 12:50 a.m., Hall was standing outside a duplex with a group when a person walked up and shot him, LAPD Det. Richard Arciniega said. No one else was injured.
Hall, who was not a documented gang member, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:24 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Victor Eugene Alford Jr., a 37-year-old black man, died May 25 after being fatally shot near the intersection of East 61st Street and Orange Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 5:40 p.m. on May 15, Long Beach police officers were informed of a shooting in the area and found Alford lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest, Johnson said.
Long Beach Fire Department officials took Alford to a hospital where he was treated for his wounds, Johnson said. On May 25, Alford succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at 11:36 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Police do not believe the shooting was gang-related and are pursuing all leads, said Johnson.
