Sidette Havron, a 45-year-old Asian woman, was fatally shot in a murder-suicide Saturday, Sept. 23, in the 10 block of Keel Court in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 10:45 a.m., Long Beach police responded to call about a domestic violence dispute. Officers found Havron and her husband, Wayne Havron, with gunshot wounds, according to a news release.
The husband was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sidette Havron was taken to a hospital where she died at 11:37 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Mary Gligorov-Meeker, a 42-year-old white woman, was fatally shot Saturday, Sept. 23, in the 1500 block of East Windsor Road in Glendale, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Family members called Glendale police about 12:30 p.m. after finding the bodies of Gligorov-Meeker and her ex-husband, Brian Valentine, both of whom had been shot, Sgt. Robert William said. They were pronounced dead at the scene at 12:50 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
The coroner ruled that Gligorov-Meeker was shot in the head by Valentine, 45, who then shot himself.

Austin Louis Jimenez, a 28-year-old white man, died Friday, Sept. 8, after being shot in the 12800 block of Penn Street in Whittier, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Whittier police responded about 3:15 a.m. to a call regarding a shooting in the area, according to Officer John Scoggins. Once there, police found what appeared to be a crime scene but no shooting victims.
About an hour later, West Covina police were called to an incident nearly 15 miles away. Jimenez and two other men were found inside a Nissan sedan. They had been shot.
Jimenez was pronounced dead at 4:46 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records. The other men were transported to a hospital and treated for their injuries.
Whittier police linked the two crime scenes and identified Whittier resident Peter Vidal Hernandez, 34, as a suspect.

Katy Ann Nosic, a 27-year-old white woman, was shot and killed Monday, Sept. 4, in the 17600 block of Castleton Street in the City of Industry, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Nosic had just finished her shift at the Golden Corral restaurant, 17635 Castleton St., where she had started working three weeks earlier as a baker in training, according to a statement from the restaurant.
About 10:23 p.m., Nosic walked outside to a waiting car when another vehicle drove up and a person got out with a gun, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza said. The person shot Nosic multiple times in the torso and then got back in the car and drove away in a light-colored van or SUV, Mendoza said.

Jennifer Ball, a 36-year-old white woman, was found beaten to death Tuesday, Sept. 5, under the South Figueroa Street overpass, south of West Griffith Street in Carson, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
A person walking early that morning saw Ball lying on the Dominguez Channel Bike Path, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza said.
The pedestrian called 911, and paramedics pronounced Ball dead at the scene at 7:14 a.m., according to coroner’s records. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma to the head.
Investigators think Ball was homeless and was living along the channel, Mendoza said. No weapon was found, and authorities have no motive for the killing.

Steven Westbrook, a 26-year-old white man, died on Tuesday, Aug. 15, after he was beaten and stabbed in the 25600 block of Cypress Street in Lomita, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Westbrook went to visit a friend who lived near his Lomita home the evening of Aug. 13, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
Investigators believe Westbrook and his friend, James Matthew Sias, 33, got into an argument and that Sias began assaulting Westbrook around 8:40 p.m., Mendoza said.
Westbrook was taken to the hospital with head trauma and stab wounds, Mendoza said. He was pronounced dead two days later at 4:15 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The cause of death was listed as blunt head trauma and a stab wound to the neck.

Eric Paul Bogart, a 49-year-old white man, died Thursday, Aug. 10, after he was shot by police in the 1600 block of Alta Mura Road in Pacific Palisades, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 10:53 p.m., officers from the LAPD’s Pacific Division responded to a call at a home and discovered that Bogart had been arguing with a woman who lived at the residence, and the two were in an on-again, off-again relationship, said Los Angeles Police Capt. Brian Wendling.
The man, later identified as Bogart, had fired several rounds at the woman, but she escaped unharmed. When officers arrived at the home they met with a private security guard who told them the suspect had barricaded himself inside.
Police then set up a perimeter around the house and called in a SWAT team, said Officer Drake Madison, an LAPD spokesman.

Todd Gregory Hurlburt, a 53-year-old white man, was shot and killed by police Friday, Aug. 4, in the 800 block of Venice Boulevard in Venice, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Officers responded about 8:30 p.m. to a call to “keep the peace” and met a woman outside a home who said that Hurlburt, her boyfriend, was inside destroying her “personal property,” according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.
As officers walked into the home, they saw Hurlburt sitting in a chair across the room with his back to the officers with a rifle in his hand, according to a news release from the department.

Jerauld Phillip Hammond II, a 46-year-old white man, was fatally shot by Los Angeles police on Thursday, July 27, in the 1700 block of Whitley Avenue in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11 a.m., officers from the LAPD’s Hollywood Division responded to a call about a man with a gun at a Motel 6, police said.
The officers went to the motel’s second floor and knocked on the door, asking Hammond to come out.
After about 10 minutes, Hammond opened the door, pointed a handgun in the officer’s direction “and an officer-involved shooting occurred,” the news release said.
Hammond, who had been struck by gunfire, closed the door and barricaded himself inside.
Officers called for backup, and a SWAT team arrived, Sgt. Barry Montgomery told reporters at the scene.
SWAT officers made several attempts to contact the man, without success, he said.
