Mikel Anthony Carballo, a 19-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, April 9, in the 7000 block of Rita Avenue in Huntington Park, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

About 3:20 p.m., officers from the Huntington Park Police Department responded to a call about shots fired in the area, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is investigating the incident. 

Once officers arrived, witnesses said the victim, later identified as Carballo, had already been taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, according to the release.

Carballo, who had been shot, was pronounced dead at 3:49 p.m.,. according to coroner's records.

Carballo was standing in front of an apartment complex when two males wearing hooded sweatshirts approached on foot and a person shot him, said Los Angeles Sheriff's Det. Louie Aguilera.

Gianni Lipel Cooper, a 22-year-old black male, died Tuesday, April 7, after being shot near Hoover & 58th streets in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

Joshua Alexander Andrade Galvez, a 24-year-old Latino male, died Monday, April 6, after being shot near 4477 Beverly Blvd. in East Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

Danny Sanchez, a 22-year-old Latino, was fatally stabbed Monday, April 6, in the 900 block of South Carondelet Street in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

About 10:15 p.m., a person in the area saw Sanchez on the ground with injuries and called police, said Los Angeles Police Det. Sean Kinchla. 

Paramedics responded and Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:18 p.m., according to coroner's records.

Sanchez, who was believed to be homeless, suffered from multiple stab wounds, police said. Investigators are trying to determine what occurred before the stabbing.
