Jonathan Lee Hoskins, a 33-year-old black male, died Wednesday, July 17, after being shot in Charter Oak, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Cristian Alberto Peralta, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, July 16, in the 10100 block of Grape Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
At 12:34 a.m., Peralta was standing near an intersection when a vehicle drove by and a person inside began to shoot in his direction, said Los Angeles police Det. Nathan Kouri.
It’s unclear whether Peralta was alone when he was shot, but when police arrived, Peralta was in the street suffering from his wounds.
Peralta was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:42 a.m., according to coroner's records.
Peralta was not a gang member. He lived in the area. The motive is unknown.

Rosemary Watson, a 57-year-old black female, died Tuesday, July 16, after sustaining blunt force trauma in Torrance, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
A suspected gang member has been charged in the killing of a USC student during an attempted robbery in March, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office announced.
Ivan Hernandez, a 23-year-old Latino, has been charged with one count of murder, according to court records. The charge includes a special circumstance allegation that the crime occurred during the commission of a robbery and while Hernandez was an active participant in a street gang, the Ghetto Boyz, authorities said.
Hernandez, who also faces a count of attempted robbery, is accused of shooting and killing Victor McElhaney, 21, about a mile from campus on March 10.
McElhaney was a student of USC’s Thornton School of Music and the son of Oakland Councilwoman Lynette Gibson McElhaney.

Cristian Jonathan Alarcon, a 26-year-old Latino male, died Monday, July 15, after being shot in Temple City, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Joshua Paul Andrade, a 27-year-old Latino, was found dead Sunday, July 14, by the railroad tracks east of the Rio Hondo River in Pico Rivera, between Washington Boulevard and East Slauson Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators.
Andrade was a homeless man who lived in the Pico Rivera area, said Lt. Joe Mendoza. Someone walking near the railroad tracks spotted his body shortly before 9 a.m. and called deputies.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:54 a.m., according to coroner's records. Mendoza said it appeared Andrade was shot, but the autopsy is pending.
Investigators don't have a motive for the shooting or any suspects, Mendoza said.

Isabel Nena Baca, a 21-year-old Latino female, died Saturday, July 13, after being shot in Lincoln Heights, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Corey Devaughn Pickett, a 42-year-old black man, was fatally shot Friday, July 12, in the 1000 block of West 94th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.
About 11:30 p.m., Pickett and another man were outside a home in the area when they were shot, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said Pickett was visiting a friend.
The shooter's vehicle, identified as a four-door sedan, fled east on West 94th Street, authorities said. The other man was injured and is expected to survive.
Pickett was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:29 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Los Angeles County Supervisors are offering a $10,000 reward for information that helps find the shooter.

Nancy Romero, a 46-year-old Latina, was fatally shot on Thursday, July 11, in the 300 block of Magnolia Boulevard in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records.
Long Beach Police investigators were called to the scene shortly before 8 am. regarding a woman lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds near the Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse, according to a department news release.
The woman, later identified as Romero, was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead at 8:29 a.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as gunshot wounds to the back.
The Long Beach Post quoted residents as saying that Romero often took walks in the neighborhood. A small memorial at the shooting site included a note on a bouquet of flowers that called Romero "one of the kindest persons in the whole world, rest in peace." The signature read: "Your neighbor."

Kevin Johnson, a 32-year-old black man, died Thursday, July 11, after he was shot in the 100 block of West 74th Street in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:35 p.m. on July 10, Johnson and three others were standing outside of a duplex when a light-colored SUV drove up to the location and began shooting at the group, said Los Angeles police Det. Dave Garrido. All four were struck by the gunfire.
A woman and her three young children were also inside a vehicle nearby when the shooting occurred and a child was injured by shards of broken glass.
Three of the men, including Johnson, were taken to a hospital, but one person refused medical treatment, police said.
Johnson was pronounced dead the next day at 11:30 a.m. The two others who were hospitalized will survive.
