David Adalberto Hernandez-Licona, a 25-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on Wednesday, Jan. 16, on Rancho Center Drive at City Ranch Road, about a half mile south of Elizabeth Lake Road in Palmdale, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators. 

Hernandez-Licona, a resident of Boyle Heights, was one of four men who were shot on the remote, unlighted road around 11 p.m. that night, according to Lt. Derrick Alfred. 

Three of the men, including Hernandez-Licona, were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth man called 911 to report he had been shot in the face. The survivor was taken to a Palmdale  hospital that night, and later transferred to an undisclosed location for more "specialized medical care," Alfred said Tuesday.

The other dead were listed as Sean B. Cowen, a 24-year-old white male from Van Nuys, and Olukayode A. "Kayode" Owolabi, a 27-year-old black male from the South Bay community …

Bradley Kavika Hanaway, a 34-year-old white man, was found dead Monday, Jan. 14, in the 7100 block of Whitsett Avenue in Valley Glen, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 9 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at Whitsett Fields Park, according to a news release from the department.

Hanaway was discovered by paramedics with gunshot wounds in the parking lot and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:10 a.m., according to coroner’s records. 

Detectives said that Hanaway was a “known transient” who resided in the area.

LAPD Det. Dave Peteque said that Hanaway was in a park claimed by gang members.

“They shot him for no reason,” Peteque said of the suspects, adding that those who went inside the park were subject to violence and harassment.

William Bailey, a 54-year-old black male, died Monday, Jan. 14, after sustaining blunt force trauma in North Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

Alejandra Claudia Hernandez, a 24-year-old Latina, was fatally shot on Saturday, Jan. 12, in the 1300 block of Glenshaw Drive in the West Valinda area of La Puente, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records. 

Hernandez, a resident of Covina, was visiting a home on Glenshaw Drive when a man described only as a Latino came inside and shot her, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Hoglund. 

Shortly after the shooting, the occupant of the house called 911, Hoglund said.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene at 1 p.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds. 

According to her Facebook page,  Hernandez was engaged to the father of their children, and started working for the YMCA of Orange County in August 2018. 

Her last post, in late October, was a request asking friends to contribute to the YMCA.

 Dimas Diaz Jr., a 43-year-old Latino, was fatally shot by law enforcement officers on Saturday, Jan. 12, on the 101 Freeway just north of the Las Virgenes Road exit in Calabasas, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records. 

The incident began in the late morning when Ventura County Sheriff's Department deputies went to a home in Camarillo regarding a domestic violence incident, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Hoglund. The alleged assault involved a woman Diaz had been dating, Hoglund said.

When the deputies arrived, Diaz fled in a stolen sedan, Hoglund said, and the deputies got into their car and gave chase, through the city limits of Camarillo. When Diaz drove south on the 101 Freeway, California Highway Patrol officers joined the pursuit.

Martin Mata Acosta, a 38-year-old Latino male, died Saturday, Jan. 12, after being shot in Hollywood Hills, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

Alvis Puentes, a 2-year-old Asian male, died Friday, Jan. 11, after being stabbed near the 100 block of East Italia Street in Covina, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

Juan Ruben Cuevas, a 26-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, Jan. 9 near Beverly Boulevard and North Saint Andrews Place in Larchmont, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a call of a shooting in the area, according to the LAPD. Once officers arrived, they were directed inside a liquor store where a wounded man, later identified as Cuevas, had gone to ask for help, said LAPD Det. Sean Kinchla.

Detectives determined that Cuevas was on the sidewalk when a person walked up to him and shot him, Kinchla said. Cuevas then went inside the store, he said.

The gunman was last seen running west on Beverly Boulevard, police said.

Cuevas was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Daniel Issac Zeledon, a 15-year-old Latino male, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, after being shot in Azusa, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Mario Ramirez, a 28-year-old Latino male, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, after being shot in Azusa, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Vincent Edward Johnson, a 56-year-old black male, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, after being shot in West Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Jose Albert Holguin, a 31-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, Jan. 8, near East 1st and South Soto streets in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County medical-examiner coroner’s records.

About 6:40 p.m., Holguin was riding in a car with another person when they stopped outside a liquor store, said Los Angeles Police Det. Jose Ramirez.

Holguin got out of the vehicle, then came back with a gunshot wound.

The other person drove him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:14 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police said no arrests have been made and did not provide a suspect description.
