Jacqueline H. Glasby, a 57-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Saturday, May 18, in the 1600 block of West Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 12:40 a.m., an officer from the Long Beach Police Department was in the area when he heard gunshots, and went to the area.
Glasby, of Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:02 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Long Beach homicide detectives believe that the shooting occurred in the parking lot of a business. People had gathered for a vigil for someone who had recently died, police said.
