Rudolph “Rudy” Ramos, a 78-year-old Latino, was pronounced dead Wednesday, April 11, after he was shot in the 1700 block of West Ninth Street in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
A family member found Ramos and his wife, Gloria Ramos, a 78-year-old Latina, lying next to each other in their bed about 6:30 p.m., said Pomona Police Sgt. Brian Hagerty.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene at 6:45 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The cause of death for both was listed as a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Investigators believe Ramos was shot by his wife, who then shot and killed herself, Hagerty said.
