A story for every victim

Marcia Gonzalez, 40

Marcia Gonzalez, a 40-year-old Latina, was shot in the head several times in a house at 5675 York Blvd. in Highland Park and died at 6:40 a.m. Feb. 6.

This case is a murder-suicide, according to police. At about 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, the bodies of Gonzalez, 40, and Guadalupe Sierra, 30, both Latinos, were found in the house.

Sierra and Gonzalez had dated for seven years, but she had left him about a month ago and he had been stalking her, police said. That day, he went to the house, killed her, then turned the gun on himself, police said.

Gonzalez's five children from a previous marriage, ages 11 to 15, were in the house at the time of the killing. They survived.
