Evelyn Oletha Mosley, a 90-year-old black woman, was found dead inside her burning home in the 3200 Block of North Lincoln Avenue in Altadena about 9:59 a.m. Thursday, May 8.
Mosley was discovered in her kitchen shortly after firefighters extinguished the fire, authorities said. Mosley's housekeeper, who works part-time, was later arrested on suspicion of murder. Investigators with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department have not released her name.
Update: The housekeeper was released after extensive questioning by detectives, according to Deputy Denise Fuchs of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She said the incident is still being investigated as a homicide.
Updated Jan. 25, 2010: Four months after Mosley's slaying, sheriff's homicide investigators named Corey King, then-18, as a person of interest in her killing after King was arrested on suspicion of a quadruple homicide in Lancaster.
