Francoise Michelle Cardin, a 48-year-old white female, died Thursday, June 24, after being shot near 5737 Cimarron St. in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Erik Alfredo Villalta, a 29-year-old Latino male, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, after being shot near South Western Avenue & West 62nd Street in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Edward James Alexander, a 32-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, Sept. 10, in the 2100 block of West 62nd Street in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:05 p.m., people in the area heard gunshots and called police, who arrived and found Alexander in the street with multiple gunshot wounds, said Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling.
Alexander was pronounced dead at 11:18 p.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.
Investigators believe that Alexander was riding a bike east on West 62nd Street when more than one person shot at him. It’s unknown if the assailants walked up to Alexander or fired from a vehicle, Barling said.
Detectives are seeking additional witnesses.

Carrie Marie Trotter, a 30-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Friday, Feb. 9, near South Western Avenue and West 58th Street in the Chesterfield Square area of South Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Trotter and her sister had just stepped off a bus about 2 p.m. when they encountered a man who pulled up in a dark-colored Nissan Altima, said Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling.
The man began shooting at the women from inside the car, striking Trotter, police said. The other woman was not injured.
Trotter was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Keenan Montrell Edwards, a 24-year-old black man, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, nearly four years after he was shot in the 1900 block of West 54th Street in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On May 2, 2014, Edwards was walking west on West 54th Street about 9 p.m. when a person walked up to him and shot him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling.
Edwards was taken to a hospital after the shooting and was hospitalized off and on for more than three years.
He was pronounced dead at 5:18 p.m. Dec. 20. Authorities said the shooting ultimately resulted in Edwards’ death.

Channon Marshawn Hardiman, a 28-year-old black man, died Monday, May 29, after he was shot near South Western Avenue and West 60th Place in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 11:56 p.m. May 28, Hardiman was standing on the south sidewalk on West 60th Place, just west of South Western Avenue, when a person walked up to him and shot him, Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido said.
Hardiman was taken to a hospital by his girlfriend, according to police and the coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. the next day, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.

Alfonso Palomares, a 40-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, Oct. 9, in the 5700 block of Ruthelen Street in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 5 p.m., Palomares was on the sidewalk near his home when a person walked up and shot him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling. There were some words exchanged before the shooting but it’s unclear what was said, Barling said.
A 31-year-old Latino was also struck in the leg but was expected to survive.
Palomares was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
The shooter was with a second person. Both are described as Latinos in their 20s wearing dark clothing.

Savannah Coleman, a black female, died Friday, July 24, after being strangled in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Deshawnda Sanchez, a 21-year-old transgender black woman, was shot and killed Wednesday, Dec. 3 in the 6100 block of South Wilton Place in Chesterfield Square, according to police and Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Residents in the area called 911 about 4 a.m. to report a robbery, said Det. Chris Barling with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police arrived and found Sanchez wounded on the front porch of a home, Barling said.
“We believe she was robbed and then the suspect shot her,” he said. It is unknown what was taken from Sanchez, who did not live in the area.
Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:12 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
A light-colored compact car was seen fleeing the scene.

Amari Findley, a black female, died Monday, June 30, after sustaining blunt force trauma in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Reginald Dewayne Pitts, a 30-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, June 3, in the 1800 block of West 54th Street in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Pitts was visiting with two other men in the street shortly before 7:30 p.m. when a black man walked up to him, said Los Angeles police Det. Sal LaBarbera. Pitts began to run away as the gunman began shooting, but tripped and fell. The gunman continued firing, LaBarbera said.
The gunman then ran to a light-colored SUV that was parked at West 54th Street and South Manhattan Place. The driver, who was also described as a black man, sped away.
Pitts was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:14 p.m., said Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman.

Ryan Lyle Black, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed Thursday, April 3, in the 5500 block of South Western Avenue in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 8:05 a.m., Black was standing in the walkway of a motel when a gunman walked up and shot him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Sal LaBarbera.
No words were exchanged and the gunman ran from the scene, LaBarbera said.
Black was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:31 a.m., said coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.
