Louis Rabinowitz, a 54-year-old white male and employee of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, was stabbed to death Friday, Oct. 16, in the 800 block of West 7th Street in downtown Los Angeles, according to L.A. County medical examiner-coroner's records.
About 10:45 p.m., Rabinowitz got into an argument with a woman inside a train near the 7th Street/Metro Center subway station, police said.
The woman stabbed Rabinowitz once in the chest, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities say. The woman then fled the scene.
Irma Monroy, a 25-year-old Latina, was arrested on suspicion of murder the next morning, according to online Sheriff’s Department records. Monroy was charged with one count of murder with the allegation that she used a knife as a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Monroy is being held on $2.1-million bail.
