Otis Rayjon Williams, a 14-year-old Black teenager, was shot and killed near East 98th and South Central Avenue in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Otis walked into an alley near South Central Avenue between East 98th and East 99th streets, said Lt. Derrick Alfred of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
As Otis walked down the alley, which is near his home, a car pulled up and someone inside fired multiple shots at him, Alfred said.
Otis was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:19 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Otis was not a gang member and detectives have yet to identify any suspects or a motive, Alfred said.
