Raul Borja, a 29-year-old Latino male, died Sunday, Sept. 24, after being shot in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
James Marcus Howe, a 42-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Nov. 27, in the 4400 block of West Avenue 42 in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 10:55 a.m., Howe and his wife were in their home when a person knocked on their front door posing as a solicitor. As the two walked toward the door, another man and a woman forced their way inside, police said.
A struggle ensued and one of the intruders shot Howe and his wife with a handgun.
Howe, a reality TV director, was pronounced dead at 11:09 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.
The suspects were described by police as a black male between 16 and 22; a black male between 20 and 25; and a black female.
The three fled in a dark-colored early 2000s Ford Mustang.

Michael Cortes, a 21-year-old Latino, died Tuesday, June 12, a day after he was shot in the 3200 block of Verdugo Road in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Cortes and Nicole Zuniga, an 18-year-old Latina, were gunned down about 9 p.m. Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Zuniga was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner's records show she suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Cortes was also wounded and taken to a local hospital. He was listed in critical condition but died the next day. According to coroner's records, he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Detectives believe the two victims were friends but had not established a motive for the attack.
Since January 2007, at least 39 homicides have been reported within 2 miles of the scene, according to The Times Homicide Report database.

Edgar De Jesus, a 20-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Thursday, Dec. 22, near Estara Avenue and Fletcher Drive in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
De Jesus was outside his home a few minutes after midnight when an unknown person approached and asked him about his gang affiliation, said LAPD Sgt. Sanford Rosenberg.
De Jesus was affiliated with a gang, Rosenberg said.
The assailant then pulled out a gun and fired "numerous rounds," hitting the victim, who died at the scene.
Officials said after the shooting that the assailant got into a car and drove westbound on Estrada Avenue to southbound Andrita Street.
Police did not have a description of the suspect, although they believe the shooting was gang-related.

Priscilla Geraldine Martinez, a 44-year-old white female, died Saturday, April 23, after being shot in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Victor De Los Santos, a 19-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, June 5, in the 3300 block of Verdugo Road in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Police responded to reports that shots had been fired early Saturday morning and found De Los Santos suffering from several gunshot wounds, said LAPD Northeast Det. TJ Morris.
De Los Santos was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 a.m., according to coroner's records.
Another victim, a 19-year-old Latino, was also shot and taken to Glendale Memorial Hospital, Morris said. He was later transferred to another hospital for treatment.
At least one of the victims had gang ties, Morris said, and it’s believed the shooting was gang-related.
Currently, investigators do not have a description of the possible shooter, Morris said.

Hilario Seferino Perez, a 43-year-old Latino, was shot in the chest and found dead on Sunday, Aug. 23, in the parking lot of a building in the 3400 block of Drew Street in Glassell Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Perez was the victim of a walk-up shooting. He was pronounced dead after being found at 7:23 a.m., Winter said.

Daniel Leon, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot by Los Angeles police at the intersection of Drew Street and Estara Avenue in Glassell Park about noon Thursday, Feb. 21 and died about three hours later, according to coroner's records.
Authorities said Leon had been involved in the drive-by shooting of , a 36-year-old Latino, near Aragon and Roseview avenues in Cypress Park a short time before his confrontation with police.
Salas was holding the hand of his 2-year-old granddaughter when he was shot multiple times by people in a passing car, police said. The girl was not hit and did not suffer any major injuries, authorities said.
