Magali Alberto, a 28-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Sunday, April 26, in the 1600 block of West Manchester Avenue in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner Coroner’s records.
About 12:20 a.m., patrol officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Division responded to a call of shots fired in the area.
When police arrived, a person directed them to a red Dodge Challenger stopped with the engine running, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido. Inside, police found Alberto unconscious.
Police believe that Alberto was stopped at the intersection of Manchester and Denker avenues when another vehicle with three people inside pulled alongside the Dodge and a person began shooting, police said in a news release.
The vehicle, described only as a sedan, fled south on Denker Avenue.

Cameron James Willis, a 37-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed Sunday, Jan. 19, in the 9400 block of South Manhattan Place in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.
About 1:50 a.m., police from the LAPD's 77th Street Division responded to a home in the area and found Willis in the living room with a stab wound, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.
Willis was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:09 a.m., according to coroner's records.
Police interviewed Willis' common-law partner, who was performing chest compressions at the scene. Police also found a knife in the kitchen.
Sherelene Janet Lawrence, a 31-year-old black woman, has been charged with one count of voluntary manslaughter, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. Lawrence is due back in court April 15, according to online court records.

John Carldarius Johnson Jr., a 25-year-old black man, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, after he was shot in the 9800 block of South Van Ness Avenue in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner’s records.
On Tuesday, Nov. 19, shortly before midnight, Johnson was driving a black Kia with another person north on South Van Ness, said Los Angeles Police Det. John Flores.
A car pulled up beside the Kia and a person inside began shooting at Johnson, Flores said.
The Kia collided with a parked car. The other person in the car, who was not injured, got out and flagged down a motorist for help.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:02 a.m. on Nov. 20, according to coroner’s records.

James Maurice Carter, a 31-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the 8900 block of South Harvard Boulevard in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner’s records.
At about 1:15 p.m., Carter and another person were driving south on South Harvard Boulevard when they pulled over, said Los Angeles Police Det. David Dilkes.
At that time, shots were fired into the vehicle, striking Carter. Police believed the shots were fired from another vehicle, but they did not have a vehicle description.
Carter was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:11 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
The other person inside the vehicle was uninjured.

Miles Julian Lishey, a 31-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, July 5, in the 9600 block of South Western Avenue in Gramercy Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:44 p.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Division responded to a call of a shooting and found Lishey inside a smoke shop suffering from gunshot wounds, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.
Paramedics pronounced Lishey dead at the scene at 11:57 p.m., according to police and coroner’s records.
Lishey and another person had just left the smoke shop in a sedan and were returning to retrieve an item, Garrido said.
Lishey got out of the sedan, and as he was walking toward the front door, another vehicle pulled up and a person inside began shooting.
Lishey tried to run back to his vehicle, but collapsed. The other vehicle then fled north on South Western Avenue. …
