Gregory Samuel Torres, a 50-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, Oct. 19, in the 1600 block of West Arrow Highway in Irwindale, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Irwindale police were called to the industrial area at 6:56 p.m. regarding gunshots and a shooting victim, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
The officers found Torres on the south sidewalk, across the highway from a ballfield, Mendoza said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:28 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Investigators don’t have any eyewitnesses to the shooting, Mendoza said. They think Torres was walking on the sidewalk when he was shot, but they don’t know whether the shooter was in a vehicle, as was earlier reported, or on foot, Mendoza said.

Leticia Delatorre Castillo, a 44-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Wednesday, April 20, in the 13000 block of Los Angeles Street in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s office records.
Castillo was at work at La Blanquita Market, standing near the checkout counter, when Raul Garcia Martinez, her estranged husband, walked into the store about 8:13 a.m., said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
Martinez, a 47-year-old Latino, walked up to his wife of 20 years, shot her in the head, then shot himself in the head as her co-workers stood nearby, Mendoza said.
The husband didn't say anything before he fired, Mendoza said. A gun was found at the scene.

Kellyane Tonyebell, a one-month-old black girl, died Friday, March 4, of a drug overdose in the 13000 block of Los Angeles Street in Baldwin Park, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
At about 5:30 a.m., the girl's mother saw that the baby was not breathing, according to L.A. County Sheriff's Lt. Joe Mendoza.
The mother then attempted CPR and called 911. Paramedics took the girl to a hospital where she was pronounced dead at 6:28 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
The cause of death was not clear at the time, Mendoza said. In late June, deputies received the toxicology report from the coroner; it said Kellyane died of an antihistamine overdose.
Detectives are trying speak to the mother, but Mendoza said she is out of the country.

Martin Diaz, a 48-year-old Latino, died of gunshot wounds Wednesday, Nov. 25, after he was shot in the 15900 block of Foothill Boulevard in Irwindale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Investigators believe Diaz left his home in Duarte around 4:30 or 5 a.m. and was driving east on Foothill Boulevard to his job when someone shot at his car multiple times from the passenger side, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lt. Joe Mendoza said.
A passerby called Irwindale police about 5:40 a.m. to report that Diaz's blue Honda sedan was stopped in the middle of Foothill Boulevard, about a quarter of a mile west of Irwindale Avenue, with the driver slumped inside.
Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:58 a.m., according to coroner's records. Aerial footage from KABC Channel 7 shows at least five bullet holes in the front passenger side of the car.

Lindsay and Robert Serrano, a 56-year-old Latino, were shot and killed when Andre Turner, a 48-year-old black man, opened fire in a Southern California Edison office with a semiautomatic handgun, then took his own life.
Two others, Angela Alvarez, 46, of Glendale, an Edison employee, and Abhay Pimpale, 38, of Montebello, a contract worker, were wounded and in critical condition.
All five worked in Edison's information technology department, Lindsay and Serrano as managers. Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives are still trying to determine a motive for the rampage.

Miguel Pedraza, a 62-year-old Latino, was found dead in a storage unit Friday, Sept. 3, in the 4300 block Irwindale Avenue in Irwindale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Pedraza's body was found shortly after a driver rammed the gate of the storage facility to force his way out, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The driver had been unable to leave because he did not have a security code to open the gate, and the facility staff refused to open it for him, authorities said. Witnesses wrote down the license plate and a description of the car.
Irwindale police responded about 4 p.m. to the facility, and while investigating they received a call from Baldwin Park police. Officers there had detained the driver of the car involved in the earlier confrontation after the car was involved in a traffic accident in that city. …
