Jerome Pope, a 61-year-old Black male, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, after being shot near 2625 S. Western Ave. in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Nabor Galvez, a 24-year-old Latino male, died Sunday, Dec. 13, after being shot near 3014 9th Ave. in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
William Henry Garcia Gonzalez, a 22-year-old Latino male, died Saturday, Oct. 26, after being shot in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Jose Henry Giovanni Cifuentes Soto, a 34-year-old Latino male, died Saturday, April 21, in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Angel Steven Quevedo, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, March 12, in the 2300 block of Fourth Avenue in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Quevedo was standing on a sidewalk alone when a white vehicle stopped nearby and a person got out, Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido said.
The person opened fire at Quevedo, then fled in the white vehicle.
Quevedo was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:12 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Two suspects are believed to be involved in the killing, which police said might be related to narcotics.

Ervin Darnel Galbreath, a 28-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Feb. 3, near South Western Avenue and West 29th Street in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 4 a.m., Galbreath and another person left the Hollywood area in a Dodge Charger when they noticed a vehicle following them, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.
The vehicle continued to follow Galbreath, and as he was driving south on South Western Avenue, the vehicle pulled up and fired at the Dodge, Garrido said.
The passenger with Galbreath fled, and the Dodge struck a parked vehicle. Galbreath was pronounced dead at 4:10 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.
No one else was injured in the shooting.
Police think the vehicle that followed Galbreath was a white sedan.

Depaul Damone Graves, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 21, in the 3800 block of Montclair Street.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department received a call of shots fired about 12:44 a.m. and found Graves in the street with gunshot wounds, LAPD Det. Dave Garrido said.
Graves was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:58 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Police think Graves was at a birthday party, where he got into an argument that turned physical. The fight was broken up, and the people involved were asked to leave the party, Garrido said.
Both groups were walking to their vehicles when the shooting began, Garrido said. Graves and a 22-year-old woman were struck by gunfire. The woman is expected to survive.

Whitney Henry Yorke, a 32-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, March 31, in the 3100 block of 8th Avenue in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Yorke was sitting in folding chair in front of a home with a friend about 6:15 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.
Three men walked up and fired multiple gunshots, striking Yorke, Garrido said. The suspects then fled on foot.
Yorke was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:58 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Police believe the shooting is related to recent gang activity in the area.

Eric Griggs, a 54-year-old black man, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, after he was stabbed in the 2000 block of West Adams Boulevard in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On Sept. 20 about 9:45 p.m., Griggs got into an argument with a significant other in an apartment, said Los Angeles Police Det. Rick Gordon. A witness intervened and, in defense of the woman, stabbed Griggs, police say.
Griggs was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:30 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office declined to file charges against the person, and police are considering the incident a justifiable homicide.

Carlos A. Segovia-Lopez, a 19-year-old Latino, died Monday, Sept. 19 after he was shot in the 2100 block of West 31st Street in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, Segovia was found with a gunshot wound to his head in his black Dodge Charger, said Los Angeles Police Det. Matt Courtney.
Segovia, a Marine on weekend leave from Camp Pendleton, had just left his girlfriend’s house and was on his way to a family friend’s home for the night. It’s unknown whether someone walked up to his car or shot from another vehicle.
Segovia didn't have any connections to gangs or other illegal activity that would make him a target, they say.
Police are trying to determine whether Segovia might have witnessed a crime before he was shot.

Lorenzo Ambrosio, a 39-year-old Latino, died Tuesday March 15, after he was shot near West Jefferson Boulevard and Ninth Avenue in Jefferson Park, according to authorities and Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On Monday, March 14, about 11:40 p.m., Ambrosio was riding his bike west on West Jefferson Boulevard when a white, four-door sedan approached and a person inside opened fire, LAPD Det. Dave Garrido said.
Others in the area also returned fire, Garrido said. The sedan then fled east on west on Jefferson.
Ambrosio was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead March 15.

Cheyanne Donta Woods, a 29-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, Dec. 22, in the 2600 block of South Bronson Avenue in Jefferson Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 10:30 a.m., Woods was standing on a sidewalk alone when a gunman walked up and opened fire, LAPD Det. Dave Garrido said. The gunman ran back to a waiting vehicle, possibly a light-colored sedan, and fled into an alley.
Woods was pronounced dead at 10:42 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.
