Edward Cole, a 31-year-old white man, was pronounced dead on Tuesday, April 9, after he was stabbed in the 41700 block of 156th Street East in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records.
Cole was in the home he rented with his girlfriend, Melissa Burana Sombati, around 9:30 p.m. when the two got into an argument, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Derrick Alfred.
Witnesses told investigators that the couple continued arguing in the garage, where Burana Sombati allegedly stabbed Cole once in the chest, Alfred said.
Cole was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as a stab wound to the chest.
His girlfriend, Burana Sombati, a 31-year-old white woman, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder on April 12, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court records. …

Nuvia Mondragon, a 43-year-old Latino female, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, after being shot in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.
Sandy Genoveva Mayberry, a 28-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Sunday, Feb. 25, in the 15600 block of Newmont Avenue in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Mayberry and her husband, Michael Daniel Mayberry, were at home in the midst of an argument around 3 p.m. when she tried to leave the house, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Derrick Alfred said.
Her husband shot at her as she ran out the door, Alfred said. When she fell in the driveway, her husband then shot her in the head, Alfred said.
Mayberry was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:22 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Several people in the neighborhood called 911, including the victim’s husband, Alfred said, adding that the man stayed at the scene until deputies arrived.

Cornelia Adrienne McIntosh, a 62-year-old black woman, was found dead Friday, Nov. 13, in the 15800 block of Greenrock Avenue in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner records.
Investigators believe McIntosh was the first of four people who were shot by John Revels, a 64-year-old Lancaster man who killed himself Nov. 13 as he sat in his car on the side of the 15 Freeway just north of Barstow in San Bernardino County. Investigators say Revels shot himself in the head as he was being approached by California Highway Patrol officers.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were asked to check on McIntosh after authorities said Revels shot Kevin L. Martin and his cousin in Hawthorne the day before, killing Martin. Investigators believe Revels then went to his brother's home and shot his brother, Paul Revels, in Exposition Park.

David John Ruiz, a 59-year-old Latino, was killed Tuesday, June 16, in the 40200 block of 164th Street East in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Deputies were called to the residence of Ruiz’s girlfriend about 1:18 p.m. regarding a person who was injured and bleeding, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Victor Lewandowski. When they arrived, they found Ruiz lying in the bedroom, bleeding and unresponsive.
Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:36 p.m., according to coroner’s records. He lived a few blocks away, Lewandowski said.
The victim’s girlfriend, Linda Clarene Jackson, a 59-year-old black woman, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Jackson told investigators that she found Ruiz unresponsive when she came into her bedroom, “but her version of events was not consistent with the evidence,” Lewandowski said.

Donald Anthony Grant, a 56-year-old white man, was fatally stabbed Friday, July 11, in the 40200 block of 162nd Street East in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Around 6:30 a.m., Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a burglary in the area, according to a news release from the department.
When deputies arrived and entered the location, they found Grant with multiple stab wounds on the bedroom floor, according to the release and coroner’s records.
Grant was pronounced dead at 6:39 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.

Jose Alcantar, a 36-year-old Latino, died Saturday, July 16, near 171st Street East and Sweetaire Avenue in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Alcantar was walking with a woman down the street when a car pulled up and he got into an argument with the occupant.
At some point, the person in the car shot Alcantar, Winter said. Authorities were called, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Winter did not know if the woman was hurt during the incident.

Terrell Nunnery, a 26-year-old black man, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, about half an hour after he was stabbed in the chest in the 41000 block of East 154th Street in Lake Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
The incident leading to Nunnery's stabbing death began late Tuesday when he had an argument with a youth and two men while visiting a friend's house, said Det. Dameron Peyton of the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau. Nunnery was stabbed. He was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster where he was pronounced dead at 1:09 a.m, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
According to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s felony complaint, the three individuals involved in the assault were Mark Broussard, 17-year-old black youth; Marcell Broussard, an 18-year-old black man; and Mark Terry Broussard, a 20-year-old black man.

Timothy Wong, a 23-year-old Asian man, was stabbed to death Saturday, Dec. 19, in the 38900 block of 162nd Street East in Lake Los Angeles, authorities said.
Wong was stabbed about 10:04 p.m. and was pronounced dead by paramedics at 10:58 p.m. while en route to a hospital, according to the news release.
Authorities have arrested Jose Abundio, an 18-year-old Latino, in connection with the stabbing. He was arrested at 2:07 a.m. Dec. 20 at a nearby residence, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release.
Jail records indicate that Abundio is being held without bail.

Tammy Howland, a 34-year-old white woman, was found dead Monday, Aug. 24, in her home in the 41000 block of 176th Street East in Lake Los Angeles, authorities said.
Howland was found with her hands bound and head covered after someone reported her death to authorities about 12:30 p.m., according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities are searching for Howland's husband, 44-year-old Kenneth David Howell. He was at the home at the time of the police report but was no longer there when detectives arrived, officials said.
Homicide detectives described Howell, a white man, as a person of interest in the case. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes, according to police.

Sergio Santiago, a 17-year-old Latino, was shot in the left side of his chest July 2 in the 17100 block of Coolwater Avenue in Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Santiago, of Lancaster, was found shot in the street about 11 p.m. July 2, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. Santiago was taken to the hospital after the shooting and underwent surgery to treat his wound, Winter said.
He was pronounced dead at 12:20 a.m. on July 3. Winter said authorities believe the shooting may have been gang-related.
R.C. Jenkins, 29, a black man, was stabbed multiple times at 17818 Lakespring Ave. in the Lake Los Angeles area about 11 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21.
According to authorities, Jenkins was accompanying his friend, Willie Nathaniel Cayne, 19, to confront his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. At the house, the men knocked on the door, then rushed in and attacked the woman's boyfriend.
Jenkins was stabbed multiple times during the fight, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. He was pronounced dead at 11:33 p.m. by paramedics at the scene.
Cayne was arrested at the home by sheriff's deputies from the Palmdale station. The woman's boyfriend was treated at the scene, but his condition was unknown.
