Ming Huang, a 31-year-old Asian man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Dec. 28, in the 4600 block of West Olympic Boulevard in Mid-City, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Officers responded to a shots fired call at the Los Angeles High Memorial Park and found Huang unconscious, said Los Angeles Police Det. Sean Kinchla.
Huang was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:45 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Police are looking for witnesses and trying to determine why Huang was in the park.

Robert M. Duncan, a 66-year-old black male, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, after being stabbed in Mid-Wilshire, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Neil Peter White, a 38-year-old white man, was shot by Los Angeles police on Thursday, July 9, near West 9th Street and South Sycamore Avenue in Mid-Wilshire, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
About 8:40 a.m., LAPD Wilshire Division officers went to the area after they received multiple reports of a man using a skateboard to break windows near Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith said.
When officers arrived, Smith said, they saw a man matching the reported description riding a skateboard down South Sycamore Avenue. The officers began following him in their car.
At some point, the man fell or jumped off his skateboard, Smith said. The officers got out of their car and tried to detain him, but he did not cooperate with their commands, he said.

Meredythe Crawford Medigovich, a 65-year-old white female, died Thursday, May 29, in Mid-Wilshire, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Christine Insoon Kim, a 52-year-old Asian woman, was beaten to death Monday, Sept. 17, in the 1000 block of South Lucerne Boulevard in Mid-Wilshire, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
A resident discovered Kim in the early morning hours, said LAPD West Bureau homicide Det. Carranza. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kim’s preliminary coroner's report indicates she suffered head trauma, apparent blunt and/or sharp force-type injuries, and a ligature mark around the neck.
Kim was a victim of a murder-suicide, said Carranza. She was killed by her ex-husband, who was living with her at the time. After he killed her, he then shot and killed himself.

Rigoberto Espinosa, a 27-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, July 30, in the 1200 block of Queen Anne Place in Mid-Wilshire, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Officers responded to a call of a shooting about 7:45 p.m., according to an LAPD news release.
When authorities arrived, they found Espinosa on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the back, officials said. Paramedics were called, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Espinosa and two friends had gotten into a confrontation with a person. After the fight, the person pulled out a gun and shot Espinosa.
Police have not released a description of the shooter.

Gabriel Aron Ben-Meir, a 30-year-old white man, was shot and killed Sunday in the 5600 block of Packard Street in Mid-Wilshire, according to authorities.
Ben-Meier, an MTV music coordinator, was just steps from his front door when he was shot in the head execution style, Los Angeles police said. Investigators are looking into a possible connection between Ben-Meir's killing and a recent series of shotgun robberies and a homicide.
LAPD sources said the robber had struck at least eight times in the last two weeks, using a shotgun during street and business robberies in the Mid-City, Southwest L.A. and Wilshire areas. The robber also is responsible for a slaying a week ago, police believe.

Juan Segura, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Nov. 22, in the 1000 block of La Brea Avenue in Mid-Wilshire, authorities said.
Segura was shot and killed while sitting in a Toyota Corolla near the corner of La Brea Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, police said.
Authorities, who said they believed the killing was gang-related, said someone approached Segura and shot him in the chest. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Daniel Carlon, a 23-year-old Latino, was shot and killed by Los Angeles Police Department officers Thursday, Nov. 12, in the 1300 block of Cochran Avenue in Mid-Wilshire, authorities said.
The shooting took place after officers escorted Flor Medrano, a 30-year-old Latina, home after she filed a domestic abuse report. The officers were waiting outside Medrano's apartment when they heard screams and went to investigate. Carlon had apparently gotten into the apartment through a window and fatally stabbed Medrano before officers shot him, authorities said.
