Byron Young Nettles, a 52-year-old black man, died Friday, March 1, after he was stabbed in the 100 block of South Euclid Avenue in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Nettles was the manager of the Euclid Villa Transition Housing for families moving out of homelessness, an apartment complex where he also lived, said Pasadena police Lt. Jesse Carrillo.
Around 9 a.m., police officers were sent to the complex regarding a stabbing and discovered Nettles inside his apartment with multiple stab wounds, Carrillo said. He was taken to the hospital and went into surgery, but was pronounced dead later that day at 3:52 p.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as stab wounds to the chest.

Jeri Hope Douglas, a 75-year-old woman, was found dead Monday, Dec. 17, in the 200 block of South Madison Avenue in Pasadena, according to police.
About 3:40 p.m., officers from the Pasadena Police Department responded to a condo in the area to perform a welfare check, according to a news release from the department.
The person who called police was concerned she couldn’t reach her mother, police said.
Officers discovered Douglas inside the condo unresponsive.
Mary Jean O’Connor, a 41-year-old white woman, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Dec. 26, police said.
O’Connor was charged Jan. 15 with one count of murder. Prosecutors said that Douglas had been strangled to death. Police said the killing does not appear to be random.

Jerry Chan, a 42-year-old man of Chinese descent, was pronounced dead on Wednesday, Sept. 12, after he was stabbed in the 2600 block of East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records.
Chan and a male friend were outside the Colorado Bar, 2640 East Colorado Boulevard, about 1:30 a.m., when a man walked up to Chan and stabbed him in the chest, said Lt. Jesse Carrillo of the Pasadena Police Department.
Chan's friend rushed the attacker, who stabbed him in the thigh, Carrillo said. The friend was able to wrestle the attacker to the ground and sit on him, Carrillo said.

Eric Lamar Holloway, a 27-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, Aug. 7, near Maple Avenue and Catalina Avenue in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 3:30 a.m., Pasadena police responded to a call regarding shots in the area and a man lying in the street bleeding, according to a news release. Upon arriving, officers found Holloway suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a hospital, where he died at 5:31 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

About 11:30 p.m. July 24, Pasadena police responded to a call regarding gunfire in the area, according to a news release. Upon arriving, officers found Luevanos suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
He was transported to a hospital, where he died at 12:16 a.m. July 25, according to coroner’s records.
Detectives later arrested Armando Ramirez Hernandez, 18, and Luis Eduardo Figueroa, 19, in connection with Luevanos’ death. Police said the attack was sparked by a gang rivalry.

Pasadena police out on patrol were flagged down about 10 p.m. by someone in the area who heard shots fired at a residence, according to a news release. Police searched the home and found Clark with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:11 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Russell Orlando Baldwin, a 44-year-old black man, was shot to death Saturday, March 11, in the 100 block of West Montana Street in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 9:30 p.m., Pasadena police were called about gunshots and found Baldwin lying in the street with a gunshot wound, according to a news release.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:29 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Antoine Dewayne Sutphen Jr., a 24-year-old black man, died Saturday, Jan.7, in the 70 block of Pepper Street in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
