Karla Ivone Echeverria, a 36-year-old Latina, was shot and killed in an apparent murder-suicide Friday, Oct. 16, in the 900 block of Calle Primavera in San Dimas, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records and local news reports.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that Echeverria was killed inside her car while it was parked near a hiking trail.
Authorities identified her estranged husband, Randolph Echeverria, a 33-year-old Latino, as the killer. He then took his own life, according to the paper and coroner's records.

Pravin Raojibhai "Peter" Patel, a 62-year-old East Indian man, was shot and killed Tuesday, June 2, in the 1000 block of West Arrow Highway in San Dimas, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Patel was shot after being robbed at gunpoint in his Quiznos restaurant, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The assailant entered the business about 3:20 p.m., showed a handgun and demanded money. Patel gave the suspect the money in his cash register and then followed the suspect when he ran outside, according to the news release.
The two men got into a fight in the parking lot, investigators said, and the suspect shot Patel once in the abdomen. He then fled from the scene on foot.
Patel was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:37 p.m., according to coroner's records.

Trayvon Earl Jeffers, a 28-year-old black man, was shot several times in the 100 block of Puddingstone Drive in Frank G. Bonelli Park in San Dimas. He died on Saturday, June 6, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Jeffers got into an argument with a group of men at the boat launch in the park, and he was found with several gunshot wounds on the north shore of the picnic area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
He was shot about 6:20 p.m. and pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital at 7:04 p.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
