Ray Anthony Nolen, a 35-year-old Latino, was shot Nov. 3 in the 11300 block of Washington Boulevard near the border of West Whittier and Santa Fe Springs and died the next day, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Nolen was sitting on a curb outside a Jack in the Box restaurant about 11:30 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan passed him, then circled back to put him in the car's headlights. A man got out and shot Nolen several times in the chest before fleeing, police said.
Nolen was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:31 a.m. Nov. 4.
“The investigation is ongoing at this time,” said L.A. County Sheriff's Sgt. Joe Ramirez. “We haven’t had anybody come forward with any other information.”

Arthur Richard Flores, a 40-year-old Latino, died Sunday, June 5, after he was stabbed in the 11200 block of Telegraph Road in Santa Fe Springs, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
About 5:30 a.m., Whittier police responded to a “man down” call in a riverbed near Telegraph Road, said Officer John Scoggins with the Whittier Police Department. Upon arriving, officers found Flores, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:28 a.m., according to coroner's records
Scoggins said they have not arrested a suspect and are pursuing all leads.

Anthony Ronald Palomares, a 23-year-old Latino, died a day after being shot near the intersection of Telegraph Road and Bartley Avenue in Santa Fe Springs, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
On April 5, about 6:30 p.m., Whittier police received a call about gunshots near Friendship Park, said Officer John Scoggins. When officers arrived, they found Palomares, a transient, lying in a grassy area with gunshot wounds, Scoggins said.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:22 p.m. on April 6, according to coroner’s records.
Witnesses told police that they saw two people approach Palomares and get into an argument. At some point, one man drew a handgun and shot Palomares, Scoggins said.

Andrew Steven Lane, a 23-year-old black man, was fatally shot Wednesday, April 15, in the 9900 block of Painter Avenue in Santa Fe Springs, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Lane was walking on Painter Avenue about 7 p.m. when he was approached by a man. The two got into an argument, according to a news release from the Whittier Police Department. The man pulled out a gun from his waist and began firing. Lane was struck in the chest and collapsed on the sidewalk.
The gunman got into the passenger side of a silver compact vehicle and fled north on Painter Avenue. The suspect was described as a male, black or Latino, and is considered “heavy set.”
Whittier police arrived shortly to the scene and pronounced Lane dead at 7:14 p.m.

Michael Charles Ramirez, a 52-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Dec. 7, in the 9300 block of Millergrove in Whittier, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Shortly after 9 p.m., officers from the Whittier Police Department were called to the area for a report of shots fired, according to a brief statement from the department. Officers arrived and found Ramirez, who had been shot. Ramirez was pronounced dead at 9:32 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
