Ricardo Medina, a 41-year-old Latino, died on Friday, Oct. 11, after he was stabbed in the 2500 block of Santa Anita Avenue in South El Monte, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner records.
Medina was riding his bicycle north on Santa Anita Avenue around 5:30 p.m., just a few blocks from his home, when a white four-door SUV pulled up beside him and two adult Latinos got out, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Brandon Dean.
The Latinos stabbed Medina multiple times and then got back in the car and drove away. Medina was able to keep riding his bike for a short distance before he collapsed about a half block from his home, Dean said.
Medina was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as stab wounds.

Jose Angel Arroyo, a 23-year-old Latino, died Wednesday, June 6, after he was shot at 1130 Peck Road in South El Monte, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Arroyo and his girlfriend went to the Shell Station at Durfee Avenue and Peck Road to purchase gas on Monday, June 4, and went inside the store to pay about 1:45 a.m., according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Derrick Alfred.
In the store, Arroyo, a gang member, “had a little conversation” with another man who was involved in a rival gang, according to Alfred.
The man returned to his car to pump his gas, and Arroyo and his girlfriend followed a few minutes later, Alfred said.
The girlfriend kept walking to their car, which was parked on the opposite side of the pumps from the rival gang member's vehicle, but Arroyo stopped, Alfred said.

Manuel Anthony Borrego, a 40-year-old Latino male, died Sunday, March 18, after being shot in South El Monte, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Santiago Octavio Martinez Martinez, a 40-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Sept. 24, in the 2000 block of Durfee Avenue in South El Monte, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Deputies were sent to a strip mall parking lot at 9:12 p.m. after reports of gunfire, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza.
They found Martinez in the driver’s seat of his parked SUV with a gunshot wound to the head, Mendoza said.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:24 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Someone heard gunshots in the parking lot and called 911, Mendoza said, but no one has reported seeing the shooting.
Investigators believe Martinez was shot from outside the car, Mendoza said, but have no other information about who shot him or why.

Higinio Jimenez-Gonzalez, a 22-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Monday, May 9, in the 9600 block of Alpaca Street in South El Monte, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Jimenez-Gonzalez was at work at Baby Blue Fashion about 8:23 a.m. when a man bicycled up to the business and asked for him to come outside, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Jauch.
When Jimenez-Gonzalez walked out, the man pulled out a revolver and shot him multiple times, Jauch said.
The victim’s coworkers ran outside when they heard the gunfire and wrestled the shooter to the ground, holding him there until deputies arrived, Jauch said.
Jimenez-Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:30 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
The alleged gunman, Leonel Xotoy, a 31-year-old Latino from South El Monte, was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into jail, Jauch said.
