$50,000 reward offered for Christmas Day killing

Officials are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for killing a woman on Christmas Day.

The office of City Councilman Bernard Parks is reaching out to the public in order to apprehend the assailants who fatally shot Kashmier James, a 25-year-old black woman, as she was with her daughter visiting a friend in South Los Angeles.

James was standing in the street outside her friend's home about 10:20 p.m. when two men in a blue Chevrolet Tahoe pulled up and stopped, police said. One of the men got out and fired nine shots at James. According to coroner's records, she was shot in the cheek and both legs.
